Trivia[]

  • Shadow is often associated with the Order of Influence, an ancient organization that aims to plunge the world into darkness and make Shadow the dominant element. Known members of the Order of Influence include the Puppet Master and Pippet, as well as the Titans, which the Puppet Master hints were created ages ago by the Order.
  • Crystal Caverns is one of the areas where Shadow is most prevalent, with crystal monsters dispersed throughout the caverns and multiple Shadow bosses, including Winston von Loot, Makalu, and the Crystal Golem. The reasons for this are unknown.
  • Shadow is one of the most difficult elements for wizards to use, considering it is the opposite of Astral, and there are only 9 wands that grant the caster Shadow spells. Shadow pets are also the most difficult to find, after Astral pets, with most only being obtainable by rescuing them in Dragon Isle.
  • This element has the most sprites for spells, using Downpourtal, Flame Burst, and Green Gust's spines, with a darker, purple hue for each.
  • For a long time, Shadow spells and pets were inaccessible to the player with the exception of it temporarily being possible to catch Crystal Monsters due to a glitch shortly after the release of Crystal Caverns.
    • With the 2023 Battle Remake, several Shadow pets and spells became accessible to the player.
